How to make a free website

As you should know i have my own website. I used Jimdo, a free online web site creator. There are several online website creators out there like Yola, Wix, ucoz, webs, but out of all those Jimdo (for me) is the best.

On jimdo you can do lots of things like add ads, email, html coding (the basics of any good website), flash, videos and the list goes on.

The easiest of all though to use is Yola. It offers a simple editing side bar and a few nice ready widgets. And the best thing is that you can add your own domain for free with dot tk, this cannot be done on jimdo or though you get jimdo pro for 5 euro a month.

Wix is excellent for a flash interface site and Ucox is great for king coders.

The best twitter app

Right let’s get this straight. What is the best FREE twitter app?

I have been testing 4 desktop twitter apps this past month. Tweet deck, Digsby, Twhirl and Spaz.

Which has the most features?

Many features can be found in TweetDeck Twhirl and Spaz. Digsby hasn't got really any at all! Each app has its own set of features. I really like the features Spaz and TweetDeck offer. But spaz doesn’t have a spell check future like TweetDeck and Twhirl. They all have a shorten URL feature, except for digsby and spaz. I prefer the tinyurl.com that TweetDeck offers.

Which offers more?

I can say hands down that TweetDeck has the most features and offers more. It has more shorten URL options it has a shorten text option incase you have to type more than 140. You can create groups eg: Friends, Co workers. It even has a Facebook status update! Again digsby offers nothing for twitter.

What does Digsby do then?

Digsby was not originally created for twitter. It was created as a all in one chat app for Gtalk, Ychat, Jabber etc. and as a email notified for po3 Gmail, ymail, aol, hotmail etc. and as a social network updater facebook MySpace etc. The best part of it is that it is not limited to 1 email like others; you can have 5-6-10 email accounts from the same provider! eg: I use 3 Gmail accounts and I know instantly when each one has a new message. You can even customise every how often it checks for an email. I have not experimented with the social networks. Anyway as a twitter app... Not so great.

Final verdict

Spaz is very good but lacks in some areas. Digsby is great for email not so much for twitter. Twhril is awesome but not as awesome as Tweet deck.

Digsby * (for twitter) ***** (for email notifications and IM chat)

Spaz ****

Twhril *****

Tweet deck *****

TweetDeck and Twhirl are the best. My favourite is TweetDeck. So check those out TweetDeck and Twhirl.
